Junior Women Earn First Victory of the Season, downing Toronto Triple Threat 44-23

The Junior Women’s team had their first win tonight against Toronto Triple Threat, beating them 44-23 behind Heni’s 4 threes in the 4th quarter!  It was an impressive team win, leading from start to finish for the first victory of the season.

Coming into this game being 0-5 made us want to win this game even more.  We were determined to come out with a win.  Starting our season with a tournament in London, we went 0-5 against some really good teams.  We played really well for a team that has never played together and stayed with teams within 5 points.  Despite the losing, we came together as a team and got to know each other better and figured out how we can help each other succeed on the court.  Our team chemistry is definitely coming along really well, we’re starting to get a feel of where everyone likes to shoot and what they do best to succeed on the court.  Our team goal is to win gold at provincials, and I strongly believe that this will be achievable with the talent we have on this team.
