It has been a great start for the Toronto Lords as a club this year, with a current undefeated and 7 wins streak going into the next weekend. First is was the Under 10 boys team, led by Alex Sumabat’s scoring and passing and Linden Smallwood-Hoernig’s amazing rebounding, who went 2-0 in their first OBL weekend with victories over East York and Pelham Panthers. Then the Under 12 boys rose to the challenge, beating North Toronto and DC Bulldogs with a well balanced offence and great defence in weekend one of the OBL.
Next up, the Under 14 boys pulled out a close one with a victory over Etobicoke Thunder in an early season game. The team adjusted to the pace and played hard, coming up with a 2 point win.
Finally, it was the girls time to shine, as the U14 girls entered their first weekend of the OBL and came away with 2 victories over Oakville and Grimsby. Great balance and defence by all the girls were the trademark of the weekend.
It has been a great start for all the teams, and they all hope their success continues to grow as the season progresses!
