A Player’s Perspective by Alex Tse

My first game as a Toronto Lord was exciting, intense, nerve racking, difficult, and fun, amongst many more things. At the start of the game we were winning by a good margin. However, by the end of the third quarter the tables had turned and we were losing by an uncomfortable margin. We had 8 minutes to come back. On any other team I probably would have been crazy nervous and not been able to pull myself together, but on the Lords it’s different. On the Lords it’s nice to win, but winning isn’t everything. I knew that if we finished the game strong leaving it all on the court, then the score wouldn’t matter because our coaches and our teammates would be proud of us knowing that we had worked our hardest. We ended up winning the game in over time. I think that we did that because we worked hard and never gave up. That is the kind of team that the Lords is and that I am proud to be a part of.

Alex is a first year player for Toronto Lords, and the starting point guard.  Since their first overtime win, the team has went 6-4 and moved quickly up the OBA team rankings, showing they are a force to be reckoned with heading into the second part of the season.
